Communication Arts publishes  Photography Annual 57, the winners of  its 57th annual photography competition

Menlo Park, California, June 27, 2016—Communication Arts magazine, a professional journal for those involved in creativity in visual communications, has published the results of its 57th annual photography competition, the most exclusive major photography competition in the world.
Of the 4,024 entries submitted to the 57th annual photography competition, only 137 were selected by  
a jury of respected creative professionals, representing the work of photographers, videographers, design firms, agencies, publishers and in-house creative departments.
The selected projects are handsomely reproduced in Photography Annual 57, the July/August 2016 issue of Communication Arts, both in print and on the iPad, and online at With the largest international circulation of any trade journal on visual communications, having work selected is considered
a significant professional milestone to the creators and publishers of these award-winning projects.

LOS ANGELES  – Professional photographer Bryan Helm was presented with the 10th Annual Black and White Spider Awards Nominee in the categories of Portraiture, People and Fine Art at a prestigious Nomination & Winners PhotoShow webcast Saturday, November 21, 2015.

The live online gala was attended by over 10,000 photography fans around the globe who logged on to watch the climax of the industry’s most important event for black and white photography.

10th Annual Jury members included captains of the industry from Bonhams, Random House, Aeroplastics Contemporary, Stockholm City Museum, Annenberg Foundation, Leo Burnett, FTM Art Advisory and Fratelli Alinari who honored Spider Fellows with 505 coveted title awards in 31 categories.

“It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the 7,686 entries we received this year,” said Basil O’Brien, the awards Creative Director. “Bryan Helm’s “selected images,”  represents black and white photography at its finest, and we’re pleased to present him with the awards.” Jury member Diane Ruggie from Velocebella agency added, “The gallery of winners and runners up has true stopping power.”

BLACK AND WHITE SPIDER AWARDS is the leading international award honoring excellence in black and white photography. This celebrated event shines a spotlight on the best professional and amateur photographers worldwide and honors the finest images with the highest achievements in black and white photography.
